SAFETY MARK LUMINOUS TAPE© is a photoluminescent marking tape used for identifying emergency exit doors, pathways, railings and stairwell entrances in a blackout or power outage. It has a host of other uses, such as marking switches and emergency equipment, or anything that needs to be visible in the dark.
As of January 1, 2009 phosphorescent marking in stairwells and exit paths is required by NFPA and by many states and municipalities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Unlike reflective tapes which simply reflect existing light, Safety Mark photoluminescent tape absorbs light energy from any source of ambient natural light, artificial, or incandescent lighting. It is fully charged after approximately 30 minutes of exposure. In darkness, the stored light is emitted with the brightest glow within the first 30 minutes after activation.
Safety Mark tape does not require batteries, wiring, external power source, or any mechanical device to operate. There is nothing to break, maintain, or service.
WHAT IS IT AND HOW IS IT INSTALLED?
Safety Mark Luminous Tape© is made of 10.0 mil thick flexible polyester laminated photoluminescent film, coated with a permanent acrylic material that absorbs and stores artificial and natural light. It is backed with a permanent pressure sensitive adhesive and peelable liner, so it can be applied without tools.
Simply cut to the desired length, peel the back and apply to a clean, dry, smooth surface.
HOW TO ORDER
SAFETY MARK TAPE is sold in individual Door Kits consisting of one roll of 1 inch wide by 20 linear feet, and is also available in Bulk Rolls of 150 feet.
